Q: How can I distribute a flat deductible for a claim over two or more estimates?
A: This is not possible in Mobile Claims/Claims Connect at this time, but we are working on it.
In the meantime, try this
Example: The insured has Coverage A - Building Coverage with a $5,000 deductible. Roof repairs are only $2,400. Currently the remaining deductible of $2,600 would not carry over to another estimate.
To split the deductible you should uncheck the box for the flat deductible (see image) and then add an additional Coverage A - Building Coverage. Name the first Coverage A - Building Coverage something like “Coverage A – Roof” and name the second one “Coverage A – Structure”. In your roof estimate, make sure all the Roof Estimate line items are Coverage A - Roof and the items in the Structure Estimate have a coverage of Coverage A - Structure.
If the deductible is greater than the RCV of the roof repairs, like in the example above, you would need to place the RCV of the Roof Estimate in the deductible box for Coverage A - Roof and then the remaining deductible in Coverage A – Structure (as in the screenshot).
