Photo File Types:
Workspace™ (Claims Connect) supports adding these photo types into Claim Photo Pages/folders:
JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP
Workspace™ will convert uploaded JPEG, PNG, GIF and BMP files into JPG. and compress them to 1024x1024.
Estimate™ (Mobile Claims) only supports adding JPG, JPEG into Claim Photo Pages/folders which
will be converted to JPG and compressed to 1024x1024.
Not Supported in Photo Pages/folders:
JFIF, TIFF, TIF, HEIC(Apple devices), HEIF, SVG, WEBP, PDF, PSD, AI, EPS, RAW, DNG, CR2, EXR, XCF, AVIF and every other file type.
EXIF = metadata. EXIF is not a file type extension.
"EXIF is standardized storing of metadata in digital image files."
Invalid file format:
If a JPG or JPEG is causing issues when uploading or saving, it may not actually be a JPG or JPEG.
Unable to load image "PHOTO.jpg". Invalid file format.
This can happen if the .jpg or .jpeg part of a photo's file name had been renamed from an originally different file type such as .png, .jfif, .heic and etc.
To confirm a photo's file type, drop the photo into Windows Notepad and look for the actual/true file type of the image near the top of the Notepad text.

Solution:
The simplest solution would be to save the photo as a new copy of the photo and choose jpg when choosing a file name and location to save as. This can be done in the Microsoft Windows program Photos which is installed by default on Windows 10 and 11.
Photo File Size:
There is no limit set for photo file size upload.
Examples of successful very large file size uploads to (Workspace™/ Claims Connect):
Photos are converted to JPG, resized to a maximum dimension of 1024x1024 and optimized after photos are uploaded.
19MB JPG 86MB JPG 108MB PNG
When Photos are added to a claim's Photo folder they are:
● Converted to JPG
● Resized to a maximum dimension of 1024x1024
● Optimized for best file size compression and storage
The above described conversion occurs when uploading photos through these services:
• Estimate (formerly Mobile Claims)
• Workspace (formerly Claims Connect)
• Inspect (formerly CAPTURE)
• Engage (formerly LINK)
• API
• Integrations (Such as HOVER, EagleView, WVS, etc.)
Scanned documents on CAPTURE are limited to the width and height dimensions of 2048x2048 pixels.
It is recommended to upload photo file sizes of approximately 5MB or less.
Adding many large file size photos (25MB+) can result in a long Upload/Synchronization process.
A very long Upload/Synchronization process, (100+ photos upload), can be vulnerable to occasional network connection instability while travelling along roadways and when in rural locations as well as when using free public wifi services found in some modes of transportation, restaurants and hotels.
Documents uploading:
![]() | The Documents category in the "All Documentation" of a claim in Workspace™ and Estimate™ allows most any other file type format you can think of but is limited to the file size defined by the Allowed feature: "Attach external documents" which by default is the below: • 10 MB for US • 5 MB for CA |
