1. Introduction

Welcome to Estimate™ for iOS! Designed to be your comprehensive on-site companion, this app lets you quickly calculate material costs, sketch floorplans, and write complete estimates directly from your iPhone or iPad.

2. What's New

This edition covers what has changed in Estimate for iOS since the previous edition of this guide, with the 8.7 and 8.7.50x updates of the app. Together, these updates speed up photo handling and line-item editing during on-site estimates.

Here is a quick overview of the latest changes and where to find them in this guide:

  • Autosave photos: Capture continuously. Each photo saves automatically and the camera stays open for the next shot. A recent-photo preview opens the last photo for a caption or annotation. The redesigned camera screen follows the native iOS camera, with slide-to-zoom on iPad and quick access to the flashlight and live pitch. See “Taking and editing photos”.
  • Calibrate when ready: Skip or postpone the "Let's get aligned" step and calibrate later with the Calibrate Photos command in the assignment or photo folder menu. See “Calibration”.
  • Drag to select photos: In selection mode, drag across thumbnails to select many photos in one gesture, across rows, with auto-scroll in long folders. See “Selecting and reordering photos”.
  • Reorder photos manually: Arrange the photos in a folder in the order that tells the damage story. The new order syncs to Claims Workspace and Cotality Estimate. See “Selecting and reordering photos”.
  • Edit items in-line: Change line-item properties such as the quantity and the waste percentage directly on the estimate page and in the estimate preview, without opening the item properties for each item. See “Estimate Page”.
  • Voice to Estimate with grades: If your pricing database uses grades, items with grades can now be added by voice: the grade is looked up, shown, and synced to Claims Workspace. See “Voice to Estimate”.

The forms screens have also received a visual refresh.

3. Installation and Login

Download the app to your device and securely access your assigned claims so you can start estimating.

  1. Installing Estimate for iOS

Estimate for iOS is a free app (provided you have an active Claims Workspace or Estimate account) compatible with modern Apple iOS devices. If you already use the legacy CAPTURE app, there is no need to download a new application. Simply update CAPTURE on your device, and it will automatically transform into Estimate for iOS.

To install the app, open the App Store on your iOS device and search for Cotality Estimate. Tap the app in the search results, and then tap Install (or Update if you already have CAPTURE installed). Once the download is complete, tap the Estimate icon on your home screen to launch the app. You can also open the App Store listing from Claims Workspace: in the top-right menu, select Download Estimate.

  2. Logging into Estimate for iOS

You will need an active internet connection for your very first login so the app can authenticate your account and perform an initial sync.

Open the Estimate app and enter your username and password. If your company uses Single Sign-On (SSO), the app will prompt you for your SSO credentials instead. Tap Log In, and allow the app a moment to securely download your assignments and pricing databases. For faster, more secure access during future logins, you can enable Face ID directly on the sign-in screen.

4. Home Screen

When you successfully log into Estimate for iOS, you will land on the Home screen. This is your central dashboard for managing your daily workload, finding specific claims, and adjusting your app preferences.

To quickly find a specific claim, tap the Search bar and type the claim number, policy number, or insured name. You can also tap the Gear icon in the top right to access your settings, group your assignments, or change the sorting order. To open your main menu for additional options (like accessing Claims Workspace or logging out), simply tap the Cotality logo in the top left corner.

  • Assignments List

The Home screen prominently displays your active claims list. Tap the My assignments tab to view claims specifically assigned to you, or tap the All tab to search through all of your company's available claims.

To quickly find a specific claim, tap the Search bar and type the claim number, policy number, or insured name. You can also tap the Gear icon in the top right to group or sort your assignments (for example, by status, claim originator, or loss city).

When you are ready to begin your on-site work, simply tap an assignment in the list to open it.

  • User Settings

To access your user settings, tap your name at the top of the Home screen. This opens a menu where you can securely log into Claims Workspace, change your password, view legal agreements, or Log out.

  • Assignment List Settings

To access the assignment list settings, tap the Gear icon in the top right. This opens a menu where you can:

    • Adjust your default assignment grouping and sorting behavior.
    • Toggle the visibility of specific claim details in your list (like the full loss address or inspection appointment date).

5. Working Offline

The core scoping and estimating features of Estimate for iOS are fully available offline. This ensures you can seamlessly build diagrams, write estimates, and capture photos even when inspecting properties in areas with poor or no cell service.

  1. Preparing for offline work

Before traveling to an inspection site without internet access, you must prepare your app while still connected to a reliable network.

First, open the app and log in to ensure your account performs its initial sync. Next, review your assignments list and identify the claims you need for the day. Tap the Checkmark icon at the top of your screen to download and make your assignments available offline. Once downloaded, you can safely disconnect from the internet and head to your site.

  2. Syncing back with Claims Workspace

You do not need to worry about losing your work while offline. Everything you document on-site (including floorplans, estimate line items, and photos) is automatically saved locally directly to your device.

The next time you open Estimate for iOS while connected to the internet, the app will automatically sync with your Claims Workspace account. All of your saved offline documentation will securely upload, and any new updates or assignments from Claims Workspace will download directly to your device.

Note: You need to remain in the app until the upload process is complete.

6. Assignment View

When you tap an assignment from your list, you open the Assignment View. This is your central hub for managing the claim. To help you get straight to work, the app opens directly to the Documentation tab.

From this screen, you can easily navigate between four main tabs to review claim details, log your on-site findings, and track the status of your assignment.

  • Documentation tab

This is where you will do the majority of your on-site work. It houses all the essential tools and files needed to build your estimate, conveniently organized by priority so you do not have to scroll to find what you need:

    • Diagrams: Create and manage floorplans, roofplans, and exterior plans.
    • Estimates: Build, view, and edit structure and contents estimates.
    • Photos: Capture and annotate property damage.
    • Questionnaires: Fill out step-by-step scoping guides.
    • Forms: Complete and sign required documentation.
    • Documents: Scan paper documents or view attached PDFs.
    • To add a new item to your claim, tap the + New object button at the bottom of the screen, or tap the + icon next to a specific category.
    • Note: Handwritten notes are not currently supported.

  • Loss Summary tab

Tap the Loss Summary tab to view the administrative details of the claim. This section provides a clear breakdown of:

    • Claim information: Claim numbers, dates, deductibles, custom fields, Questions and Answers, and Cotality Enriched Data.
    • Insured information: The policyholder's name, address, and contact details.
    • Loss information: The on-site contact name, phone number, and the property's year built.
    • Adjuster information: Your contact details and company information.
    • Policy: Coverage details, effective dates, and policy limits.
    • If you need to make changes, tap the Pencil icon next to a section header to edit the information directly from your device.
  • Timeline tab

The Timeline tab presents a chronological, timestamped log of all activities performed on the claim. This allows you to track exactly when documents were added, when the claim was created, and when the assignment was received. You can also tap + New entry to add your own manual note to the log.

  • Assignments tab

The Assignments tab displays all the specific task assignments related to this claim (for example, the Originator assignment and your current Inspection assignment). Tap an assignment to view its details, see the participants involved, and update the overall assignment status (for example, from Assignment Received to Inspection Performed or Estimate Completed).

Note: Users can view Assignment Custom Fields (ACFs) but not edit them.

7. Diagrams

Whether you are working on an iPhone or iPad, Estimate for iOS allows you to quickly create accurate, professional-grade diagrams directly from the job site. The Diagrams feature is designed to completely replace pen and paper, enabling you to visually document the exact layout of the property with ease.

Depending on the scope of the loss, you can effortlessly add and customize Floorplans, Roofplans, and Exterior Plans. If you are using a supported Pro device, you can use your built-in LiDAR scanner to automatically generate floorplans simply by walking around the room. Otherwise, our intuitive manual sketching tools let you draw custom shapes, drop in doors and windows, and set precise dimensions. Because these diagrams automatically calculate structural measurements and surface areas, they provide the perfect foundation for generating a highly accurate estimate.

  • Draw Floorplan

You can easily create a native floorplan complete with walls, doors, windows, missing walls, and staircases. Estimate for iOS gives you the flexibility to build your floorplan by either scanning the room automatically or sketching it out manually.

    • LiDAR scan (Pro devices only)

If you are using a LiDAR-equipped iPhone Pro or iPad Pro, you can automatically capture room dimensions. To start, navigate to Documentation > New Diagram > Floorplan and tap Scan from the pop-up menu. Slowly move your device around the room to capture the walls, doors, and windows. Once you have captured the entire area, tap Finish. You will then be prompted to type or select a room name (for example, "Office"). Tap Finish Scanning to save the room, or tap Next Room to seamlessly continue scanning the rest of the property.

    • Room Shapes

On a floorplan, tap the shape selector to drop a predefined room shape onto your canvas (such as a rectangle, L-shape, or T-shape), or use the free form tool to draw the walls manually.

Once your room is placed on the canvas, the side menu becomes dynamic, meaning the actions available will automatically change based on exactly what you have selected:

      • When you tap a Room: Selecting the entire room gives you access to structural adjustment tools. From the side menu, you can select Buildout, Segment, or Vertex modes to manipulate the room's overall footprint.
      • When you tap a specific Wall: Tapping a single wall updates the menu with options to add structural features to that exact location. You can insert a Missing wall, Door, Window, Opening, or a General items box. You also retain access to the Buildout, Segment, and Vertex tools to manipulate that specific wall's shape.
      • When you tap a Door: Tapping an existing door on your floorplan opens its specific details. From the menu, you can view the Door properties and change the Door type as needed.
      • You can pinch your screen to zoom in and out at any time to ensure your measurements and item placements are perfectly precise.

  • Draw Roofplan

Build an accurate roofplan by adding predefined shapes and easily modifying their pitch and elevation.

    • Roof Shapes

On a roofplan, tap the roof panel to set or edit key details like the roof height, elevation, and soffits. You can also use the side menu to drop skylights, openings, or triangle openings directly onto your roof panels. For a better view, pinch your screen to zoom in, or rotate the roofplan to inspect it in full 3D.

  • Draw Exterior Plan

Use the exterior plan tool to map out outdoor structures like decks and fences, ensuring your estimate captures the entire property.

    • Exterior Shapes (2D)

On an exterior plan, select a predefined 2D exterior shape. Once placed, tap the shape to quickly edit, flip, mirror, or merge it with another shape. Use the side menu to seamlessly drop doors, windows, or openings onto your exterior walls. Just like with other diagrams, you can always pinch your screen to zoom in and out, helping you maintain perfectly accurate measurements.

Note: 3D exterior shape editing is not currently supported in Estimate for iOS.

8. Writing an Estimate

Once your diagrams are set and your on-site inspection is underway, you can begin writing your estimate. If an estimate hasn't been added yet, refer to “Adding an estimate”. You can effortlessly browse the pricing database, apply item batches, use assemblies, or leverage AI voice commands to add and organize line items directly from your device.

  • Adding an estimate

Before you can start adding items on a diagram, you must have an active estimate. Depending on your company's settings, an estimate may have already been generated automatically when you created your first diagram. If you do not see one, you will need to add it manually.

Navigate to the Documentation tab of your assignment and locate the Estimates section. From here, simply tap the New Estimate card (or tap the floating + New object button at the bottom of your screen and select Estimate).

You will then be prompted to choose a default estimate name from a predefined list configured by your company (such as "Structure" or "Contents"), or you can type in your own custom name. Tap to confirm and generate your new estimate.

Note: Importing from another claim or from a contents .xlsx file is not currently available.

  • Search Items in Pricing Database

To find specific items, tap the Search tab from the estimate screen. You can seamlessly browse through the available categories or use the search bar to type a specific keyword. Once you locate the items you need, select one or more from the list, adjust the item quantity if prompted, and apply them directly to your estimate.

  • Assemblies

Assemblies save you time by auto-generating a list of related line items based on a few quick questions. To use this feature, tap the Assemblies tab and choose an assembly from the list, such as Flooring or Drywall. You will then be prompted to answer a brief set of questions regarding the damages. Once you have answered the questions, tap Generate Estimate Items. You can then review and edit the generated list, select the specific items you need (all items are selected by default), and tap Add Selected Items to drop them straight into your estimate.

  • Item Batches

Item batches allow you to quickly drop pre-configured groups of items into your estimate. To use this feature, tap the Batches tab from the estimate screen to view your company's saved item groups. For maximum efficiency, tap Quick Add next to a batch to instantly drop all of its items into your estimate. Alternatively, you can tap the batch name to open it, review the contents, check or uncheck specific items, and then apply only your chosen selections.

  • Voice to Estimate

You can leverage AI to recommend the correct line items from the pricing database simply by describing the property damage.

To use this feature, tap the Voice to Estimate tab. Tap the microphone icon to describe the damage out loud, or use your keyboard to type a brief description (for example, "Tear out and replace half inch drywall on walls"). Tap the send icon to let the AI process your description.

The AI will quickly return a tailored list of recommended items based on your description. Review the suggestions, uncheck any items you do not need, and tap Add Selected Items to place the finalized list directly into your estimate. If your pricing database uses grades, you can add items with grades by voice as well: the grade is looked up, shown with the item, and synced to Claims Workspace.

  • Item Properties

You can easily modify the specific details and calculations for any line item in your estimate. To get started, simply tap on any added line item to open its properties.

From here, navigate through the default tabs (Details, Coverage & Depreciation, Rollout, and Comment) to make your adjustments. Some items will display additional tabs. You have full control to update key details like the unit price, quantity, waste percentage, coverage application, and depreciation.

Once you are finished making your adjustments, tap Save to apply the changes to your estimate.

  • Rollout Calculator

Use this tool to visually manage the layout, orientation, and color-coding of flooring materials (such as carpet) directly on your floorplan.

    • Prerequisites
      • A drawn floorplan with at least one room.
      • Flooring line items added to your estimate.
    • Step-by-step
      1. From the main documentation screen, ensure you have added your line items (using Search, Assemblies, etc.) and tap the Preview button to view your items.
      2. In the Preview, tap on one of your flooring items to open the Item properties.
      3. Within the Item Properties menu, select the option for the Roll out calculator to enable it for this specific line item.
      4. Choose the specific display color you want for this material and tap Save.
      5. If you have multiple flooring layers, repeat this process to enable the rollout calculator for each item, choosing a different display color (for example, green) so they can be visually distinguished.
      6. Once saved, look at the top of your diagram view, where the Rollout Calculator toolbar will now be displayed.
      7. Tap the rollout calculator toolbar icons to adjust the layout orientation. There are five options: Horizontal, Vertical, From Wall, Switch Layout Direction, and Switch Seam Side.
    • Key features
      • Orientation Toolbar & Indicators: The toolbar overlay at the top of the floorplan allows you to independently orient different materials. For example, you can set one material to run horizontally and another to run vertically. The diagram provides visual text indicators (like → and ↑) next to the material names right inside the room to confirm the direction.
      • Visual Color Legend: If you apply multiple flooring types in the same room, you can assign them distinct colors (like yellow and green). You can tap an icon on the rollout toolbar to open a dropdown legend that clearly displays which color swatch corresponds to which line item.
      • Item Properties Menu: In addition to the rollout calculator settings, the item properties menu allows you to adjust the item's quantity.
    • ITEL Integration

You can seamlessly send flooring or roofing items to ITEL for an independent pricing analysis directly from your mobile device.

To start the process, simply add an ITEL line item (such as "ITEL Carpet Supply") to your estimate. Tapping the item will automatically open the ITEL order prompt. From here, you can select your preferred Test Method (choosing between ITEL Now or Asphalt Shingle Pricing) and select any additional ITEL services you might need for the job.

Once your details are configured, submit the order. The app will handle the upload and synchronization in the background. When ITEL successfully returns the pricing results, simply reopen the item and tap Apply ITEL Prices to automatically update your estimate with the accurate costs.

    • Estimate Preview

Before finalizing your work, you can review the line items you have already applied to a room. While in estimate mode (indicated by the purple estimate icon at the top of your screen), tap Estimate Preview.

This screen displays a helpful list of all the items currently applied to the room, allowing you to quickly verify the quantity, unit price, and total cost for each item.

You can also easily change where an item is applied within the room. Simply tap the application icon (for example, F for Floor or W for Walls) next to the item. A menu will appear, allowing you to select the specific surfaces where you want the item applied.

    • Debris Removal

Let the app automatically calculate your total debris volume and recommend the correct disposal containers for your project.

To use this tool, first ensure you have already added line items to your estimate that include a debris volume value (such as tear-out or demolition items). Next, tap the estimate menu and select Manage debris containers to open the Debris Monitoring Panel. This panel provides a clear visual comparison of your current Debris Capacity versus your total Debris Volume.

Tap Recommend Debris Containers to let the calculator suggest the appropriate dumpsters or trucks needed for the job. Review the recommended containers, and simply tap Apply to add them directly to your estimate.

9. Estimates

  • Estimate Page

The Estimate Page serves as your central hub for reviewing all applied line items, tracking your overall costs, and managing the workflow status of your estimate.

To access this hub, navigate to the Documentation tab and tap on any existing estimate to open it. From here, you can easily scroll through your scope of work and view all applied line items, which are cleanly grouped by category.

    Editing line items in-line

For quick changes, you do not need to open the item properties. On the estimate page and in the estimate preview, tap an editable field on the line item itself, such as the quantity or the waste percentage, type the new value, and confirm. The same properties that you can edit in-line in Estimate on your PC can be edited in-line here, online or offline. For any other property, open the item properties.

    Managing your estimate

You have full control over the estimate file directly from this screen. By tapping the three-dot menu in the top corner, you can access several administrative options:

    • Edit options: Access estimate options to modify the default pricing database, adjust estimate totals (such as minimum charges, taxes, overhead, and profit), and manage finalization settings.
    • Rename: Change the title of the estimate.
    • Lock estimate: Lock an estimate so no further changes can be made to it.
    • Create revision: Generate a new revision so you can safely make adjustments to an estimate that has already been locked.
    • Manage debris containers: Open the Debris Removal Calculator to compare your estimate's total debris volume against container capacity, and automatically generate recommendations for the correct debris removal containers.
    • Configure automatic notes: View, add, or edit the notes that are automatically generated and attached to specific line items.
    • Print: Print your current estimate to a PDF file so you can easily save it or share it externally.
    • Default coverage: Select and apply the default policy coverage for the items in your estimate.
    • Delete: Remove the estimate file completely if it is no longer needed.
    • Release ownership: Release your device's active ownership of the claim so the file can be safely opened and edited on another platform, such as Estimate on your PC.
    • Updating workflow status
    • As your work progresses, you can easily update the estimate's workflow status directly from the app. Simply tap the current status button (such as In progress) located at the top of the estimate screen, and select an updated status from the dropdown menu (like Completed or Ready for review) to push the workflow forward.

  • Estimate Options (online only)

Adjust the foundational settings of your estimate (such as the applied pricing database, taxes, and overhead) directly from the app.

Because these settings rely on synchronizing with your company's live database configurations, you must ensure you have an active internet connection before starting. To access these settings, open your estimate and tap the View Options link (typically located on the Totals tab) to open the Estimate Options menu.

From here, you can seamlessly tap through the available tabs to make your adjustments:

    • Pricing: Change the pricing database version applied to the estimate to ensure your line item costs match current market conditions.
    • Estimate Totals: Apply overarching adjustments for Overhead and Profit (O&P), Structure Sales Tax, Minimum Charges, Discounts, Salvage, and default Depreciation.
    • Finalization: Configure key settlement details, enter reference data, and easily toggle whether the estimate is Cash Settled or Invoiced.
    • Once you are finished configuring these settings, tap Apply (or Save). The app will automatically recalculate your overall estimate totals based on your new foundational settings.

10. Photos

  • Adding a photo folder

Keep your workspace organized by creating specific folders for your photos before you begin your inspection. To get started, navigate to the Documentation tab of your assignment and scroll down to the Photos section. Simply tap New Folder (or Add folder) to create a new, designated space for your images.

  • Calibration

The first time you add photos to an assignment, the "Let's get aligned" screen asks you to calibrate the orientation by taking a picture of the front of the property. You can calibrate right away, or choose when to do it:

    • Skip: Start shooting now. The app asks you again at your next photo session.
    • Set Up Later: Turn off the prompt for the rest of this assignment.
    • To calibrate later, tap the three-dot menu on the assignment page or in a photo folder and select Calibrate Photos. The command disappears once the assignment is calibrated.
    • To calibrate, simply point your camera at the front of the property. The app uses your device's built-in compass to automatically detect the orientation (such as North or South).
    • Note: The system intelligently mirrors the detected orientation to calculate the direction the property actually faces, rather than the direction you are currently facing.

    • If you know that the automatic orientation provided by the app is incorrect, you can do a manual override by tapping the compass icon at the top of the screen and selecting the appropriate direction. Once you are satisfied, confirm the calibration to save it.

Note: Photos taken before calibration record no compass direction, even after a later calibration. Their elevation is set to Not Set, and you can set it manually (Front, Back, Left, Right).

Warning: Once the calibration is set for an assignment, it cannot be modified.

  • Taking and editing photos

The camera screen follows the native iOS camera. Tap the shutter button to take a photo: each photo is saved automatically and the camera stays open for the next shot, so you can capture continuously. The flashlight and the Live pitch tool are one tap away while you shoot. To end the photo session, tap the X in the top-left corner.

To add a caption or an annotation without leaving the camera, tap the recent-photo preview to open the last photo you took. When you close it, you return to the camera.

Use the built-in editing tools to adjust your images and clearly highlight property damage.

To open the editor, open a photo from the recent-photo preview or from its folder and tap Edit. Then tap the Damage toggle and select YES or NO to indicate whether the picture illustrates property damage. Taking a second to do this right away makes sorting and filtering your claim photos much easier later on.

Next, you can use the bottom toolbar to enhance your image:

    • Caption: Tap to manually type a text description of the photo.
    • Annotate: Tap to draw freehand, add arrows, or place text comments directly onto the picture to highlight important elements.
    • Measure: Tap to set two points on the photo and manually log the distance between them.
    • Adjust: Tap to crop the image or fix the exposure.
    • Once you are satisfied with your modifications, tap Done (or Save) to save all of your changes.

  • Live pitch tool

The Live pitch feature is a great way to measure the pitch of a roof using only your mobile device.

Note: You still need to physically access the roof to use this tool.

To measure the roof pitch, launch the camera tool from the Documentation tab or by tapping the camera icon within a questionnaire. Tap the Pitch icon (or Live pitch) at the bottom of the screen, which will cause a blue arc to appear over your camera view.

Next, place the edge of your device directly against the roof, aligning both ends of the blue arc with the roof's slope. The app will use your device's built-in systems to automatically calculate the pitch. Once aligned, simply tap the shutter button to take a photo and permanently save your measurement.

Note: The unit of measurement used for the roof pitch depends entirely on the settings defined in your Claims Workspace account.

  • View a photo

Once your photo has been saved, you can easily reopen it to review its details, make further adjustments, or manage its annotations.

Simply tap on any saved photo within your folder to open it. From here, you can tap the eye icon at the top of the screen to quickly toggle your drawn annotations on or off. If you need to make further changes to the image (such as adding new measurements, modifying the caption, or moving it to a different folder), simply tap Edit to reopen the photo editor.

  • Tags

Applying tags helps you and your team easily identify, sort, and filter your claim photos.

To add or review tags, simply open a saved photo and tap the Tag icon located beneath the image. From here, you can review several system-generated tags that the app automatically captures for you, such as the Direction, Date taken, Taken by, and Company.

In addition to these automatic details, you can manually tap File name to rename the image, or tap Area to tag the specific location where the photo was taken (for example, "Kitchen" or "Master Bathroom"). Once you have finished adding your information, tap Save to apply your tags.

  • Selecting and reordering photos

To work on several photos at once, enter selection mode: long-press a photo or tap Select. Then tap photos one by one, or press a thumbnail and drag across the others to select many photos in one gesture. The first photo is selected as soon as the drag begins, every thumbnail your finger crosses is added, and the gesture continues across rows. In a long folder, hold your finger near the top or bottom edge of the list to scroll while you select. You can combine a drag with individual taps, and the selected photos stay highlighted until you clear the selection or act on it.

Once your photos are selected, apply an action to the whole group, such as moving them to another folder.

You can also reorder the photos in a folder to tell the damage story in your own sequence, moving one or several photos at a time. The new order syncs to Claims Workspace and Cotality Estimate.

11. Questionnaires

  1. Opening a questionnaire

To start logging your on-site findings, navigate to the Documentation tab of your assignment and scroll down to the Questionnaires section. From here, tap the New Questionnaire card (or tap the floating + New object button and select Questionnaire). If your company has multiple questionnaires available for this specific loss type, you will be prompted to select the exact one you need from a list to continue.

  2. Navigating through a questionnaire

Once your questionnaire is open, you might notice that some information (like the inspection date or client name) is automatically pre-populated so you do not have to type it twice.

Work your way through the form and answer the questions in order.

Note: Some questionnaires use conditional logic, meaning new questions may appear or disappear based on the specific answers you select.

To move between different sections of the questionnaire, simply swipe left or right on your screen, or tap the Arrow buttons at the bottom. You can also tap any embedded hyperlinks to instantly open external resources in your device's web browser, or tap the Camera icon next to a question to capture and attach a supporting photo directly to your answer.

  3. Submitting a questionnaire

Once you have ensured all required questions are answered, tap Complete questionnaire at the bottom of the screen to save your answers.

If you have an active internet connection, the app will automatically sync your answers back to your main account. If you are currently working offline, your questionnaire will be safely saved on your device and will automatically sync the next time you connect to the internet.

12. Forms

  1. Adding a form

You can easily add and fill out necessary forms right from your device while inspecting the property.

To get started, navigate to the Documentation tab of your assignment and scroll down to the Forms section. Tap the New Form card (or tap the floating + New object button and select Form). You can then select the specific form you need from a list of available templates configured by your company.

Simply tap the fields within the form to enter the required information. You don't need to worry about losing your work. Your progress is automatically saved as you type.

  2. Viewing a form

You can return to your saved forms at any time to review, edit, sign, and manage them.

To access an existing form, navigate to the Documentation tab and tap on a saved document in the Forms section to open it. From here, you can review or edit any filled-in fields.

Note: You can only edit fields if the form has not yet been locked.

If the document requires a signature, tap the signature field to draw your signature directly on your device's screen.

You also have full administrative control over the document directly from this screen. By tapping the form's menu options, you can choose to Rename, Share, Lock, or Delete the document as needed.

13. Documents

  1. Scanning a document

Use your device's camera to quickly capture physical documents while on-site.

Navigate to the Documentation tab of your assignment and scroll down to the Documents section. Tap the New Document card (or tap the floating + New object button and select Document) to launch the scanner.

Place your paper document on a flat, well-lit surface and center it in your camera's viewer. Once aligned, simply tap the shutter button to take a photo of the page.

Tip: Scan documents in portrait (vertical) mode for best results.

  2. Adding a document

After scanning a page, you can tap its thumbnail to use the on-screen tools to rotate the image, resize it, or apply a color filter.

If your document has multiple pages, you do not need to create separate files for each one. Simply tap Add page at the bottom of the screen and repeat the scanning process for each additional page to combine them into a single file.

Once you have scanned and adjusted all pages to your liking, tap Done (or Save). Type a name for your file to finish adding it to your claim workspace as a PDF.

Warning: Once a PDF file has been created in the app, it cannot be modified. If any changes are required later, you will need to rescan the paper document.

  3. Viewing a document

To review the documents you have captured and saved to the assignment, navigate back to the Documentation tab and scroll down to the Documents section.

Simply tap on any saved document in the list to open it. PDF documents created within the app will open directly on your screen, while other file types may require a compatible app installed on your device to view them.

14. Print (online only)

Because generating and printing PDFs requires synchronizing with your company's live reporting templates, you must ensure you have an active internet connection before starting.

  • Generating a PDF

To create your document, open your assigned claim and navigate to your estimate. Tap the three-dot menu in the top corner of your screen and select Print.

On the Print to PDF screen, you can select a specific Print profile from the dropdown menu (this will automatically default to your company's standard settings). Next, simply tap through the Pages, Estimate, and Options tabs to check or uncheck the specific information you want to include in your document.

Once you are satisfied with your selections, tap Create PDF to generate the document. After taking a moment to preview the document on your screen, tap Share (or use the native Apple share icon) to seamlessly send it via Mail or Messages, AirDrop it, or securely save it to your device's Files app.
