Release Notes Version 8.7

Claims Workspace™ · Cotality Estimate™ · Estimate™ for iOS

Improve Photo Management

This release improves the Photos experience for users across several key photo management areas:

  • Multi-selecting and De-selecting photos with the mouse
  • Locating and applying bulk edit commands
  • Gallery visibility options (including viewing more or fewer photos and showing the full thumbnail)
  • View option to show or hide photo captions
  • Retaining photo order and orientation during upload
  • Additional keyboard shortcuts
  • Smoother drag-and-drop reordering
  • Adding photos from computer files through the standard Windows file dialog

Estimate™ for iOS — Autosave Photos

Estimate™ for iOS users can now capture photos continuously. Each photo is saved automatically and the user stays on the camera screen for the next shot, with no edit-and-save step between photos. A new recent photo preview on the camera screen opens the last photo for a caption or annotation and returns the user to capturing when closed. The camera screen has also been redesigned to follow the native iOS camera, with a slide-to-zoom control bar on iPad and quick access to the flashlight and live pitch while shooting.

Estimate™ for iOS — Manually Trigger Calibration

Estimate™ for iOS users can now choose when to calibrate instead of photographing the front of the property before any other photo. The “Let’s get aligned” screen now offers Skip, which lets the user start shooting right away and prompts again at the next photo session, and Set Up Later, which turns off the prompt for the rest of the assignment. A new Calibrate Photos command in the 3-dot menu of the assignment page and the photo folder triggers calibration whenever the user is ready, and disappears once the assignment is calibrated. Photos taken before calibration record no compass direction, even after a later calibration, but their elevation can still be set manually.

Estimate™ for iOS — Forms Interface Update

The forms interface in Estimate™ for iOS has been updated with visual and usability improvements for a more consistent experience when viewing and completing forms.

Voice to Estimate — Grades Support

Voice to Estimate now supports Grades. Items with grades can be added to an estimate by voice, with the grade looked up, displayed, and synced correctly between Estimate™ for iOS and Claims Workspace™. This prepares Voice to Estimate for databases that use Grades, such as UK databases.

Improve the Add Form Command

Cotality Estimate™ users can now select forms from a list when adding a form to a claim. The list shows all available forms at a glance, replacing the thumbnail-based browser that required scrolling — especially helpful for companies with long form lists.

Update App Links in Claims Workspace™

Claims Workspace™ users can now download the recommended mobile app for their device from the “Download Estimate” section in the top-right menu: Estimate™ for iOS from the Apple App Store, and Capture from the Google Play Store for Android.

Reinspect — Review Part of an Estimate

Claims Workspace™ Reinspect™ users in Cotality Estimate™ can now filter a reinspection by room, diagram, or item category and reinspect only that part of an estimate. The reinspection report calculates the percentage of change based only on the portion reviewed, so a change to a small reinspected area is no longer diluted by the full estimate total.

Updates to Reinspection Report Templates

The Reinspection template reports now support an estimate-level search, reorganized and renamed columns, and new financial and accuracy metrics. As a result, reporting users can produce a consistent, detailed view of reinspection activity without manually piecing information together across reports.

Enable ITEL Order on an Existing Item

When ITEL is enabled for the claim’s originator company, the ITEL tab is now always available in Item Properties on ITEL-eligible items, including those added through the API or XML import. As a result, users can create an ITEL order on an existing item directly, instead of deleting and re-adding the item to the estimate to prompt the ITEL order dialog.

Payment Tracker — Coverage Filter on Payment Summary and Printing

Claims Workspace™ users can now filter the Payment Summary by one or more coverages to see only the related coverage totals and the payments that include that coverage. When printing, selecting a coverage automatically limits the Payment Summary, Payable Items, and payments to that coverage, so adjusters can produce focused, accurate output for review or for the insured without manual selection.

API — Return Payment Coverage Details

The ClaimPayment Type API now returns a per-coverage financial breakdown that matches the allocation shown in Payment Tracker. As a result, downstream core claims systems can post coverage-level amounts to their ledgers automatically, removing the manual double-entry that was previously required.
